The young daughter of Jessica Priest. Annie believed (and was told) that Jessica is actually her aunt. She loved to receive visits from 'aunt' Jessica, and was being raised by her Grandma Priest as Jessica was often away.

After Jessica became She-Spawn, she paid Annie and her mother one last visit before saying goodbye, possibly forever, in an attempt to keep them safe from her enemies.

Anomaly, The

A new sort of Deadzone that cancels the powers of both Heaven and Hell. The Anomaly was the location of Al Simmons's suicide, and it was discovered by a few interested parties. The Violator quickly made sure, however, to kill anyone but him with direct knowledge of the Anomaly.

Later, after learning of the Anomaly, Jim Downing lured the Symbiote there for a final confrontation. From within the Anomaly, Downing reached out to make contact with the Symbiote.

As the Symbiote bit off his arm, the forces of light came from within the ground and devoured the costume. Then, the forces of darkness came as well, and devoured Downing. Shortly after, in a green flash Al Simmons was reborn on Earth as Spawn once again.

Anti-Pope

The sadistic ruler of Hell's thousand year reign on Earth (during the future-apocalypse). From his home in Nuvatican City, he revels in the agony of mankind and has any remaining survivors hunted down.

The Anti-Pope personally re-baptized a man named Abel and used him as a way to get close to the human resistance and the family of Daniel Llanso.

After the fall of Abaddon, the Anti-Pope faced an assault from the humans and summoned ancient beasts called the Mumblers. It was in vain however, as he was eventually slain by a redeemed Abel.

Beth and Archie Weller are a middle aged couple afraid of what New York has become. They used to go out and enjoy the city, until 6 years ago when they were mugged.

Beth ended up spending a month in the hospital recovering, and they rarely went out after that. Six years later, on her birthday, they decided to give the city another shot. They enjoyed their evening until they tried to return home and discovered everyone on their subway train had been slaughtered by The Kingdom.

A secret museum holding artifacts and knowledge of the hellspawn from the beginning of time. It is housed in a former church in New York City that is owned by a secret, private trust.

Cog has access and spends much of his time there. When he finally relents and agrees to give Spawn some answers about himself, he takes him to the archives to educate him about the hellspawn that have come before. Included in its relics are the skulls of former hellspawn, the headdress of Immaculata, and many other items related to the curse of the spawn.

Argus, The
An ever-changing demonic being that consumes souls and has taken innumerable forms throughout the millennia. At one point it assumed the form of a giant cybernetic arachnid and ravaged the planet Pentagas-Fraser until Angela was hired to stop it.

She was unable to end its reign of terror in time, and with the help of Deurges and The Kron, The Argus eventually destroyed all life on the planet as well as the ex-Angel Lilith.

According to Angela, it was working in conjunction with Limbo and was the reason Angela was seemingly randomly teleported about the universe for a time.

During the fracture of Hell when Spawn arrived and was forced to fight the Violator for the throne, he realized that, as king, Hell was an extension of him. He unleashed the Army of Hellspawn to battle the Phlebiac for him. Countless Hellspawn were released from their chains and were ordered into battle together.

Much later, during Armageddon, the army was fighting as one on Earth and met Spawn again - this time as a foe. They declared him a traitor and attacked, but Al unleashed his new god-like powers on them. The army was swallowed by the Earth and returned to Hell from whence it came.

When Al Simmons led his father's dying soul to its judgment point, they had to pass through an onslaught of Aspects sent by Belial. Al warned his father not to address the Aspects directly or to refer to them with his thoughts, lest they find cracks and invade his mind.
