When the Violator turned to Rex's friend, he spared his life (and mistakenly called him "Rex"), but transformed him into the first of many clown-henchmen to do his bidding.

After being recruited, "Rex" hijacked a bus and transformed the riders into more clown-henchmen.

Reynard

A young peasant that left home with his girlfriend Marie after she became pregnant. While traveling through a forest, the two were attacked by bandits but with luck, were rescued by Covenant.

The hellspawn escorted the couple to a nearby abbey so Marie could give birth safely. Soon after Marie and Reynard had their little girl, the abbey was set ablaze by Guy DuBlanc.

Marie did not escape the fire, but her baby and Reynard did thanks to the angel Immaculata, for whom the baby girl was named.

Reynard, stricken with grief, left little Immaculata in the care of the convent and ventured off, promising to return one day.

Rhyll

Rhyll was an extremely unlucky small city in England during the dark ages. It was ruled by Lord Covenant until he went away to fight in the crusades.

In his absence, it was controlled by his harsh brother-in-law Baron Rivalen. The citizens of Rhyll starved and suffered under Rivalen's rule until Covenant returned to them as a hellspawn and liberated them.

Their happiness was short lived, however, as soon after the town was massacred by the mysterious Beast of the Wood. Mistakenly assuming Covenant was responsible for the destruction, the citizens ran their leader out of town. What remained of the city was finally destroyed by a group of invading Vikings led by a man named Harald.

Some time later, when Covenant returned to Rhyll, the village began to reform. The survivors of the previous massacres made their way back, as did the remnants of another destroyed city called Turnbold. The new city of Rhyll lasted a week or two at best before it was destroyed once and for all by the Beast of the Wood.

Richard Simmons

Alias: Richie Simmons

Al's younger brother. When Mammon began visiting the Simmons family when the boys were young, he seemed most interested in Richie. Over time, he seduced Richie into a lifestyle of heavy drugs.

After college, Richie was sent by Mammon (who called himself Malefick) to see a dealer named the Weasel, and told to take a knife for protection. At the dealer's hideout, Richie was drugged and molested by the Weasel, but he awoke while it was happening. Richie protected himself by stabbing the Weasel with the knife, then called his brothers to come help.

When they arrived, Al murdered the Weasel to protect his little brother from being arrested. After the murder of the Weasel, Richie fled and traveled.

He went to South America, India, Europe, etc. and eventually 'found God'. As an adult, Richard returned to the United States and became a pastor, as well as the proprietor of a fundamentalist Christian "Hell House" in Illinois.

After the White Light, the demons Ab and Zab paid the Hell House a visit, and inside they opened gateways to the real Hell. This drew the attention of Spawn, who was reunited with his little brother when he arrived to stop Ab and Zab.

When Spawn asked Richie about their parents, they both realized that they hadn't thought about them in years. Spawn explained that Mammon must have blocked their minds from thinking of their parents.

After Spawn left, Mammon appeared to Richie and they discussed the truth about Heaven, Hell, God and Satan. Richie admitted that he believes he belongs in Hell, and Mammon sent him willingly through a doorway. When he entered, Richie said the Lord's Prayer as he was enveloped by Hell.
