Lilith

An ex-angel imprisoned in Cataclysm. She was released by the mysterious Deurges to do battle with Angela, who she called her "sister".

Lilith felt Angela was impure for her failure to kill Spawn, but that she was also stupid for serving God. While fighting and arguing, Lilith was devoured by the being known as The Argus.

Lilith (vampire)

According to Max Williams, in the early post-Eden years of life, Lilith was a sister of Eve. Out of all the sisters, Lilith and Eve were the most different, as Eve chose a path closer to God while Lilith chose the path of Satan. What they did share in common, was that they had both bedded Adam.

Lilith acquired great power and became very skilled at deception. She began to feed off of the life of others, and became the world's first vampire. Her power was seductive, and lured the interest of another ancient evil: Bludd. He didn't yet have a name in those days, but he was certainly evil. He tracked Lilith, watched her feeding habits and waited.

Eventually, he fooled the vampire by transferring his soul into her while she was feeding off of him. When she had finished, he “pushed her aside” and took control of her body. He wanted to destroy Lilith's soul completely and absorb her power, but he lost her. He mistakenly believed that she was sent to Heaven, but she was actually pushed to The White. For millennia he has planned to ascend to Heaven, track her down and destroy her.

Max Williams warned Jim Downing that if Bludd were to gain control over Downing's symbiote, he could also discover The White, and as a result, finally discover Lilith as well. Max fears that if that were to happen, Bludd would annihilate Lilith and become unstoppable.

Limbo

Limbo is a strange place that seems to be a neutral ground between Heaven and Hell. It is also the location of the Heavenly prison known as Cataclysm.

According to Angela, the forces of Limbo once worked in conjunction with The Argus.

According to Mammon, Limbo isn't a 'place', it is an indescribable territory known in human terminology as Limbo, but it is a place that he claims to control.

Limbo was the site of the battle between Spawn and Morana, which is also where Mammon and Morana were bound by Nyx.

Lord Isanagi Nakadai

In a story told by Mammon, Lord Isanagi Nakadai was a great and powerful warrior in feudal Japan. As a reward for a great victory for his emperor, Nakadai was awarded a province of his own. His joy was short lived, however, when he returned home to find that his wife and child had fallen victim to fever during his conquest.

Inconsolable, Nakadai's province fell into disrepair from his neglect. At the advice of a respected old man, Nakadai left his province once again to find and slay his personal dragon. He roamed the country as a ronin and accomplished many great deeds in pursuit of his dragon.

In one town he banished a group of 5 demon brothers from their holy temple, possibly the notorious Phlebiac Brothers. One day, Nakadai came across an ancient temple on a cliff and investigated. It was there that he finally found his dragon.

After a fierce and close battle, Nacadai was victorious, but he neglected the most important advice he had received from the old man - before the dragon dies, look it in the eye to discover that which you need most.

The story grew hazy from this point. It seems possible that Nakadai died with his dragon and returned to his province years later as a hellspawn. Upon his return he discovered ruins where his town had been and a usurper upon his throne. Nakadai was filled with rage and disbelief at who the usurper was, but Mammon never revealed that part of the tale.

Many centuries later, a mysterious box was opened by one of Nakadai's ancestors through the machinations of Mammon. This led to a number of lost souls being released, including Lord Nakadai. Spawn intervened to lead the souls to a final end, and between he and Nakadai, a final battle was waged.

Spawn fought fiercely to provide Nakadai an honorable death, which he received. For this, Nakadai looked Spawn - his second dragon, in the eye and thanked him. There he finally saw the thing he needed most - pity.
