Al and Terry discussed the possibility that Jim Downing may not be the only experiment of Project Ragnarok still living, and Al (despite being powerless at the time) chose to make Decay his first opponent.

After a brief fight and chase, Decay made a wrong move and fell off the roof of a building, splattering on the ground below, presumably dead.

Demon Elite

According to the Violator, the Demon Elite created the Old Guard by cross-breeding Demons and vampires into Hell's version of a super-soldier - similar to Jim Downing but with no soul. Over the centuries, they became more and more ruthless and became a source of fear for Hell's Elite.

As a result, the Old Guard found themselves being sent on more and more dangerous missions as the Elite secretly tried to set them up for failure. When the Old Guard realized what was happening, they completely wiped out the Demon Elite.

Deurges

A mysterious being of unknown origin, Deurges watched with a curious eye as Angela was created.

He has a history with Cogliostro - when they met once in the alleys Cog was horrified to see him walking free, and immediately attacked him. Deurges swatted him down like an insect and then claimed that times were different now - he was free and Cog was no longer his jailor.

Deurges seems to be at odds with Angela, and at one point he released the ex-angel Lilith from her prison at Cataclysm so that she could fight Angela.

After the future-apocalypse, Deurges confronted Daniel Llanso just after he had defeated the Anti-Pope. As the city incinerated around them, Daniel offered Deurges the one thing he felt Deurges feared most: forgiveness.

Devil’s Right Hand, The

After Urizen was defeated and imprisoned within the earth, his claws formed earthen stalagmites outside of the town called Malice. The formation came to be known as the Devil's Right Hand.

Inside the town, no one could remember what had happened - some said it was a fire, others an earthquake, but no one really asked. All memory of Urizen was gone, and it seemed like the Devil's Right Hand had always been there.

One day when the Miller boys were playing on it, a shard of it went into Preston's foot and he released a portion of Urizen's power. When the power grew too strong, Spawn arrived and released it from Preston to imprison it once again.

Diabolus Interium

As defined in the Serpentine Addendum, Diabolus Interium (The Demon Within or the Devil Inside) is a process by which an evil spirit, sent from Hell, possesses a human soul and coaxes it to act upon its darkest impulses.

The human is then damned to Hell for its sins, despite the interference of the evil spirit. Also, the evil spirit becomes more powerful with each soul it gathers.

Billy Kincaid employed Diabolus Interium to toy with Spawn, Sam & Twitch.
