Peter the Farmer

A simple farmer near the town of Turnbold. When the socialist King of Turnbold was killed by the villainous Brakert, the town became a hive for thieves, and its residents were enslaved or killed. Peter's wife was enslaved in town, while he was forced to work his fields and give the crops to Brakert.

His face was hideously scarred one day when he tried to enter the city to see his wife. Luckily, one day Covenant passed through the area and listened to Peter's tale. Hungry for adventure, Covenant stormed the town, rescued Kari and killed Brakert.

A good while later, Peter and his fellow survivors of Turnbold joined with the remnants of Rhyll to form a new independent village.

The Pope

An agent working on behalf of the Vatican to investigate Jim Downing delivered a report to the pontiff explaining that Downing may not be a hoax and that he could perhaps be a real threat to the church. All evidence was leading to the possibility that Jim was acting with Divine influence and could be the second coming.

Understanding that it would be disastrous if this were true and Jim were not aligned with the Catholic church, The Pope gave instruction that an agent of the church should visit with Downing directly and offer him salvation with open arms. However, should Downing refuse, they should mark him as a heretic and assign him for inquisition.

Later, Father Hallwell visited with Sara Johnston and offered her a meeting with the Pope if she would bring Jim Downing.

In the midst of the Vatican's efforts to bring Downing into the fold, a new Pope was elected and some of the interested parties (including the Vatican Priest and Father Hallwell) decided it might be best to continue without reporting to the Pope.
