Rafael

Alias: Raphael

After Gabrielle's disgraceful removal from office, Rafael took over as the new director of Terran Affairs for Heaven. As acting director, she immediately contacted Orbital Station One and told them that she would be running things more efficiently than Gabrielle ever did.

She inquired as to the location of the current hellspawn, to which the Station revealed that there were currently 3 tracked entities within New York. One of them, the weakest signal, may have been a power transference from Spawn. Rafael ordered the creation of a new Redeemer and for him to capture the signal (Spawn's friend Bobby).

Later, while Rafael was in a meeting with Mary, it was interrupted by Spawn who infiltrated the building and took Mary hostage - demanding the release of his friend. Rafael fruitlessly tried to have Spawn destroyed, but in the end she released Bobby.

After the confrontation, Rafael oversaw the reconstruction of Terran Headquarters and briefed the angel Tiffany on the new Hellspawn.

Rafferty

Rafferty was a cop who became possessed by the spirit of Billy Kincaid. Unlike Billy's other possession victims, Rafferty seemed to lose control to Billy entirely.

While trapped in his own body, Rafferty was forced to go along with Kincaid's schemes, until he was confronted by Spawn. Rafferty was allowed to "come to the surface" just long enough to plead for his life during the fight, but it was too late.

Twitch abruptly ended the fight from the sidelines with a bullet to Rafferty's head. Twitch was remorseful at the thought of killing an innocent man, but relieved to discover that there was not mark of Diabolus Interium on his neck - Billy did not damn Rafferty's soul.

As he appeared, Spawn somewhat accidentally killed Claudiaz, then immediately engaged with Raptor, who recognized the hellspawn as the one who caused their terrifying reality.

Misunderstanding Spawn's intentions, Raptor believed it would be best to sacrifice himself rather than become enslaved once again. Little did he know that his confrontation with Spawn and his ultimate sacrifice had been orchestrated by Billy Kincaid.

Gebhard was also dating a man named Kramer for a number of months during his early effortts to create a super-human. Though they didn't “talk business” when they were together, eventually Kramer's partner (Jason Wynn) began pressuring him to get more help from Gebhard.

Kramer held his ground, however, as he had grown to love Rebecca. They were married even as Kramer's secret program Ragnarok was under mounting pressure to produce results.

After the results never came and Kramer still refused to pressure his wife for assistance, Wynn took matters into his own hands. He had Rebecca murdered and her data stolen. Kramer was powerless to stop it.

Years later, after Kramer's coma and re-awakening as Jim Downing, he believed for a time that he was Rebecca's murderer. Eventually he learned the truth from Wynn himself.

He met with Spawn and offered an alliance, claiming that they were both outcasts from Heaven and Hell. He believed Heaven couldn't trust vampires due to their Hellborn lineage, and that Hell despised them due to their shared DNA with humans.

Despite his pleas, Spawn was unwilling to join with them, so Rebirth attempted to use force instead. He underestimated Spawn's powers though, and soon he and his fellow vampires were overrun by zombies raised from the dead by Spawn.

In the melee, Spawn killed Rebirth by sawing off his head. He delivered the head to the remaining vampires and instructed them to, in turn, deliver it to their boss, whoever it may be.

After willingly taking the super-drug, Cyan's powers grew exponentially and she attacked Red-sleeves by inflicting all the pain it had caused others on him. It clawed at its own head to stop the screaming until it tore its own head in half.
