Maeve Fletcher

Alias: Maeve the Innocent, Maeve the Magnificent

Maeve was the 14 year old daughter of a man killed in the Shire of Rackham massacre. Always an odd girl, Maeve became even stranger after the death of her father and claimed to hear the voice of God. She vowed revenge on those responsible for her father's death and created an army of innocents - children gathered from towns and villages she traveled through.

She also freed Covenant from his cave prison so that he could train and lead her army as well as earn redemption for himself. In her battle against Cogliostro's pagan horde, Maeve was killed and her army was destroyed. Her name lived on in the form of a legend that was retold for centuries, such as in the theatrical play "Maeve the Innocent".

Later, when military testing on Simmonsville resumed, Vale was called in by Jason Wynn to be briefed on the situation. Soon after, Wynn mysteriously disappeared and Simmonsville seemed to come under attack.

To fix the situation, Vale investigated Simmonsville personally and was confronted by Spawn. Unfortunately for Vale, he was recognized by Spawn and killed for his past crimes.

Malcolm

Alias: Patient 46

A super-powered former hitman. Malcolm's wife and children were all killed somehow and that, at least in part, led to his early retirement. He gained his powers as a human guinea pig for the same experiments done on Jim Downing. Whereas Jim was Patient 47, Malcolm was 46.

When Malcolm's former employer, The Agent, was unable to kill Jim Downing, he convinced Malcolm to return from retirement to take the job (by kidnapping Malcolm's girlfriend Susan). When Malcolm confronted Jim, a fight ensued. Malcolm was shocked to find that Jim's entire body seemed re-engineered.

As the fight went on malcolm came to the conclusion that he couldn't allow the media to see Jim's power and that they both needed to die like all the other patients. As the building they were in collapsed around them, only Jim appeared from the rubble.

Malice, Pennsylvania

As the coming of Urizen approached, the little town of Malice Pennsylvania fell under a bizarre hysteria. Its citizens committed suicide and murdered loved ones without understanding why they were doing it. Those that remained seemed to enter a trance-like state and marched towards Urizen amidst fire and earthquake.

After Urizen was defeated and imprisoned once again within the Earth, the residents of Malice lost all memory of what had happened. Only the Devil's Right Hand showed any sign that Urizen had ever been there.

A short time later, a piece of Urizen was accidentally freed by young Preston Miller and Malice was close to falling under his spell once again, but Spawn intervened once again to return things to normal.
