Kendra Boothe

In life, Al Simmons killed a number of people in the line of duty. He always told himself he was just following orders, but secretly he relished the murders. After their deaths, the innocents Al murdered had their souls bound to his Symbiote by Malebolgia.

One of those souls was that of CIA Secretary Kendra Boothe. Boothe was having a secret affair with a senator, and when the senator wanted Boothe to disappear, Simmons helped implicate her in an espionage scandal with the Russians.

Kenneth Erskine

Severely disabled at birth, Kenneth was born with a drastic case of an immuno-deficiency disease in which nearly any germs could kill him. To survive, Kenneth was forced to live out his life within a bubble.

Over the years, Kenneth grew more and more bitter with his situation, but for the most part lived safely protected. He practiced drawing and became quite a skilled artist.

When the Apocalypse came, there was a lapse in care at the hospital, and Kenneth's air supply was contaminated. He was severely disfigured and grew even more resentful at the world. He was given a gift, however, as Pestilence bestowed upon him the ability to create psychic projections of himself - so that he may live outside his bubble in a fashion.

After the White Light, Mammon visited Kenneth and taught him to use his new powers to lash out at the world. He did so by murdering his fellow entrants in an art competition.

His murders drew the attention of both FBI agent Marc Simmons (Al's brother), and Spawn. Their confrontation resulted in Kenneth committing suicide, but not until he finished killing the 5 winners of the competition.

Kingdom, The

The Kingdom is a group of vampires that believe they are descended from the 12 apostles of Jesus. Throughout time they have been persecuted and outcast, but they view themselves as God's chosen race. They wait for a cleansing when the wicked will be wiped from the Earth and they will rule. The Kingdom's beliefs about their past are incorrect, however, as the disciples were never vampires.

Most recently, the vampire cult was led by Simon Pure, a particularly religious zealot who took it upon himself to initiate the prophesized "cleansing". He created an army of 777 vampire warriors to begin their assault on mankind in NY. The warriors' eyes were blinded by Pure, but they were gifted with a "second sight" which allowed them to see sinners marked with an "S" on their foreheads.

Simon sent the army into the city to slaughter all the sinners, but his plan was foiled when Spawn absorbed all of New York's sins into himself. The Kingdom was lured into a trap in which Spawn turned Simon's own followers against him and tricked them into sinning against their own. They were all then sent to Hell through a doorway created by the demons Ab and Zab.

Kumiko Kitamura

In life, Kumiko was a rebellious teenager who disobeyed her parents and the grandfather that lived with them. She was addicted to drugs and sold her body to pay for them. Her grandfather Hiroshi learned of this and followed her. One night he attempted to defend her honor by attacking her dealers with a sword, but they were both killed.

After their deaths, Hiroshi and Kumiko walked in darkness for many years. One day, a light appeared in the darkness and they were released. The two lost souls had been trapped within Spawn since his creation, but were released by the boy Christopher Welland.

Their deaths happened to occur during the same hour as Al Simmons' murder, and from that moment on, their souls became linked. Spawn had them released to help him fight back the flow of Armageddon, specifically, to quell a zombie uprising in Tennessee.

Kumiko charged ahead, believing she was in some sort of game, and her dutiful grandfather followed. Amidst the battle, a sudden realization came to the Kitamuras - this was not a game, and much like the zombies, they were dead. Hiroshi and Kumiko made amends with each other and came to terms with what they had become.

They remained good allies with Spawn until he was slain by Judas. After Spawn's death, the 6000 souls within him were released to an unknown future (which Mother assured Spawn would be only their beginning).

Hiroshi and Kumiko were recalled one last time to Spawn's aid when he fought with his daughter Morana. The Kitamuras were killed in battle, but they were successful in that they distracted Morana long enough for her to be defeated.
