Newscasters |
|
Three newscasters often seen reporting and commenting on current events relating to Spawn in some way.
Typically, the first newscaster (a female usually working for a cable news network) reports the news in a clinical, deliberate fashion.
The second newscaster (a blonde skinny man), usually works for an entertainment network and tends to skew his reports to cover more gossip and hearsay.
The third newscaster (an overweight man with a goatee) is the most opinionated of the bunch. He often delivers a small amount of news amidst a verbose rant. He changes news stations almost every time we see him.
The first newscaster interviewed Marc Rosen on TV regarding Jim Downing. Later, she was overcome by the swarm of insects unleashed by Leetha.
As the insects ravaged the city, many news outlets were overrun. Eventually, only the third newscaster (of the original three) remained broadcasting.
After the city returned to normal in the wake of Downing's final confrontation, a new "first newscaster" appeared, apparently confirming the death of the fist. But the second newscaster, the thin blonde man, returned to the airwaves once again.
The third newscaster, who also survived the insects, was confronted a short while later by Al Simmons. Barry, as he was called, was actually a demon in disguise. (Later, he went by Brock "The Shock" Fennel.
After being interrogated, Barry revealed that Wanda Blake was murdered by demons and her soul was taken to The Tunnel. When he was pressed once again by Al for more information, he told him to look in Albania. He was then congratulated by his accomplice, Violator.
After some time had passed, Barry was seen once again reporting his opinionated version of the news for various outlets. |
