Hi, i read the armageddon arc, but i didnt see the old woman that was introduced back in issue 32 fighting with the angels, where did she disappear?

Her appearance has never been explained, and it's one of my "most wanted" plot holes to be wrapped up. My best guess is that it could be argued she was another form of Mother

She does appear in Curse of the Spawn #10. In a flash back with Angela while she was still learning her role as an angel, the "Mary" woman comes and talks to her, teaching her about her role as an angel, sympathizes with her as a woman in pain, and so on.

The only thing is... This flash back happens long before her first appearance in Spawn #32. I think the being is God, not 100% sure though, just my current theory. God took the form of Gabrielle's mother to give her comfort because she was stressed about the visit. It doesn't explain why some years before this event she has that form for Angela.

It's probably just so we, as readers, will recognize that it's the same character since little else has been revealed up to that point in the series. And it doesn't explain Her appearance in Spawn 32 or offer any resolution to that thread of story. Who knows, maybe Mcfarlane will pop out a new issue that explains it all.
